BougeRV CRD2 V2.0 Review: The Dual-Zone Fridge with Its Own Battery, Tested

BougeRV · CRD2 V2.0 43QT October 6, 2026 2 min read

Forty liters, two zones, and its own battery: the BougeRV CRD2 V2.0 is a 12-volt fridge-freezer that doesn't need to stay plugged in. We tested it in its 240 Wh battery version, right beside our travel trailer.

In brief

  • Capacity: 43 qt (40 L), two independent zones
  • Temperature: -20 to 20 °C (-4 to 68 °F)
  • Detachable 240 Wh battery: up to 28 h of runtime according to BougeRV
  • Our verdict: we recommend it

Two zones, two uses

One side chills, the other freezes, at the same time. Each zone has its own lid and basket and is set separately; the fridge covers a -20 to 20 °C range. The control panel is at the front, reachable without opening the lid.

Mobility and battery

The handle and wheels let you get it out of the vehicle on your own, despite its 20.8 kg (45.9 lb). The 240 Wh battery slides in on the side, behind a panel that opens one-handed, and comes out of its bay. BougeRV claims up to 28 hours of runtime on battery. The fridge also plugs in anywhere: 12 or 24 V in the vehicle, wall power, or a solar panel up to 150 W.

Price

The 240 Wh battery version is listed at CA$849.99 regular, and CA$639.99 on sale as of October 1, 2026; in the US it's US$639.99 regular (US$509.99 on sale). The version without battery is CA$549.99 (CA$439.99 on sale)

Our verdict: we recommend it

The BougeRV CRD2 V2.0 offers two independent zones, real mobility and the freedom of a built-in battery. For camping and trailer trips, it's a fridge that goes anywhere, even far from an outlet.
